Week 1 of veganism down. Still going good. I don't have to deal with as much temptation as I thought. I have switched to Silk creamer for my morning coffee, and substituted my afternoon coffees for fair trade or organic teas. I made a couple of meals to freeze over the weekend: a black bean "neat"loaf and a hungarian goulash, both of which are good tasting, full of protein and vegetables, and vegan :) Last night I made a nacho cheese sauce with nutritional yeast which I thought was horrible tasting, but I have another nutritional yeast cheese sauce recipe to try which has more spices in it and will hopefully turn out better.

Today is the 10th anniversary of my decision to become vegetarian. I am celebrating by taking the next step: I am becoming a vegan. Although I don't currently eat alot of eggs or milk, I do make and consume a fair amount of products with eggs and dairy products in them. I also love organic sour cream and cheeses. I will have to be very diligent with my meal plans and figure out a number of different products to make ahead and freeze. This is going to be hard, but I already feel good about my decision.

Discovered this really great bike trail from Halifax to Bridgewater (approx 130km of trail) a couple of months ago. The trail is on abandoned rail beds and it is in different sections (each one maintained by a different organization). We've been biking it in sections. Partly because it's fun and partly to check out the terrain. Next summer, we're going to bike as far down to Bridgewater as we can, stay overnight, and bike back the next day. Last Saturday, we biked from the end of the Aspotogan Trail to Chester, which is on the Chester Connector Trail.

Jason and I have been trying to plan a December wedding for the past few months, but it has been difficult to get everyone to come home at Christmas and it was starting to turn into a huge event. We were talking last Sunday (May 14th) and decided to have a small wedding sooner, rather than waiting. So, we got married two days ago (Sunday, May 21st) at Jason's parents house in Moncton, NB. It was great!!!!!! My mother flew in from Edmonton, and my brother and his girlfriend drove down from Kingston, ON. I delegated most of the tasks and had very few things to do other than get my hair done, do my nails and makeup, get dressed, and get married. We are calling it our "family elopement". Jason's family and mine really got along great. Everyone had a great time and it was a nice day for pictures (of which there will be lots very soon) and we went to a lovely Chinese food restaurant (House of Lam) for a supper reception.

I just got back from Montreal today. I had a great trip. Jason and I walked around Old Montreal and the St. Lawrence waterfront for hours. We had dinner at a great pub called Les 3 Brasseurs on Friday and at Papillon, a cute Italian place, on Saturday. We took a carriage ride, went to the Biodome, saw all of the island from the Olympic Tower, took the Metro everywhere and basically had a great time!!!!

I recently got engaged to my boyfriend. We went to Fredericton last weekend, and he proposed in front of Head Hall at UNB. See a picture of my new hand accessory here. We won't be setting a date or starting the plans until he finds out if he's been accepted into the Navy.

Another new redo, this time of my personal site. I registered a domain name www.sewingspells.ca, so my personal site is now guin.sewingspells.ca I added frames so I could scroll one section of the site, a new header photo, a pretty background pic and some links. A no frames version is possibly in the works depending on how many people use browsers that don't support frames. To my business site, there is of course the new url, yay! Plus I updated the home dec section with some table runners and placemats, and added a new clothing and accessories section for pictures of the clothes I do on special order. I'm so excited about the new site.

Last week I bought a really cool laptop on ebay. It was a 366MHz, 128MB ram, 6Gb HD, graphite ibook... It was so awesome. However, yesterday, I was robbed of my precious kelowna (my laptop), my dvd player and all my dvds. Some jerk decided to break in and ransack the place, then stuff all of my stuff into my roommate Christina's backpack. GRRRRRR...

My friend Iveta and her daughter Lucie were over for supper tonight. I made fettuccine alfredo with garlic bread for us. Afterwards we talked and took pictures of Lucie

My company is progressing well, lately. I have a couple of regular customers and I'm planning on getting a booth at the Halifax Farmer's Market. I've branched out into household items as well as the medieval stuff... there seems to be a demand for those sorts of things here.

I got a kittie :) His name is Choco. He's a chocolate brown colour all over. A girl I used to work with was moving and couldn't keep him (she named him), so I told her I wanted him... he's so cute, and he loves attention. When he's not sleeping 18 hours a day. Pics of Choco.

I've recently returned home from a visit to my hometown to see my baby brother graduate from high school. I can't believe how grown up he is because he was a child when I left home. He is joining the Air Force in their ROTP program in August (his education is paid for as long as he signs up for 5 years. I went a little photo crazy and have tons of pics, so i put some pictures of his graduation on my site :)

I've finally met my lifelong dream of moving to Halifax, NS. *Yay* I'm from NS originally and I lived here for a year or so when I was a child and I've always wanted to move back. I'll be moving my company along with me, as well as my best friend Jason, who is going to be my new roomie :)

I'm a seamstress (or trying to be) in Moncton, NB and I thought I'd start this website to drum up some business. I figured around Hallowe'en and Christmas people might be looking for costumes, or just Christmas sewing. I also make bags and sacs and sell them at shows like Christmas at the Colliseum throughout the year. I called my company Guinevere's Sewing Spells because I prefer to create medieval and magical things.
